What We Do

Connect Volunteers
to Communities

We work directly with activities directors of Senior Living Memory Care units to arrange performances.

We meet directly with residents to learn their needs, understand the environment, and identify performances that will benefit them most.

We recruit volunteers and prepare them for what is needed and expected in our community performances.

Volunteer Responsibilities

Volunteers are aligned into performance groups that serve each community. There is a Volunteer leader to coordinate each group's participation.

Volunteer levels range from weekly to monthly. Each performance session is an hour long. Volunteer time per event, including preparation time, averages about 3 hours, depending on whether you are learning new material.

Volunteers prepare for visits by identifying and learning music that is familiar and enjoyable to elderly residents. They chose from the resources we provide that are prepared by our Executive Director from meeting with the residents directly.

About Our Volunteers

We seek volunteers who are dedicated to sharing their joy of music to foster a sense of well-being and enhance the lives of our elderly community.

Community Partner Responsibilities.

Visits are planned in accordance with the Activities Director and Caregiver Staff's guidance and direction.

Volunteers are not trained music therapists, so they cannot be relied upon to independently analyze participants' nonverbal, verbal, psychological, and physiological responses to music and nonmusic stimuli.

Caregiver staff must be available to volunteers at all times so guidance or intervention can be provided at any time.
